Eve’s Enlightenment
Eve’s Enlightenment
Original oil painting on linen.
“Eve’s Enlightenment” reimagines the Genesis narrative through a lens of wisdom, knowledge, and feminine awakening. Rather than portraying the serpent as a symbol of temptation or moral failure, the work draws upon older traditions in which the serpent represents healing, sacred knowledge, enlightenment, and transformation.
Entwined with Eve in an exchange that feels more like communion than confrontation, the serpent becomes an emblem of esoteric understanding. Its presence does not diminish her, but instead illuminates her, imbuing her with awareness, self-possession, and profound insight.
Rendered with tenderness and psychological depth, Eve’s nudity is depicted not as shame, but as a symbol of consciousness and self-realisation. Through this reinterpretation, the painting presents Eve not as a figure of transgression, but as one of illumination and awakened truth.
