Painted in 2016, Election Night captures a moment of collective disbelief as it registered in the body.
The figure’s skin is pink with red undertones, suggesting internal heat rather than outward reaction. Her purple hair forms from the convergence of red and blue, holding opposing forces within a single body. The colors do not resolve into harmony. They coexist under strain.
Her expression is difficult to read. It is not outrage or despair, but the suspended “what the f-k” moment before language arrives. The pause when something fundamental shifts and the body knows it before the mind can make sense of it.
She can be read as an individual, but also as a stand-in for America itself. Not idealized, not heroic, but human. Processing, unsettled, and altered by what has just occurred.
This work does not argue a position. It records a reaction. A face holding the weight of a collective realization.
Original oil painting. One of a kind.
